CASE STUDY · MEXKITCHEN
Street food speed, with a restaurant system behind it.
MexKitchen started in 2014 with a food truck and now runs several permanent locations. Here is how OneMin helps them serve fast and build their own customer base.
THE STORY
MexKitchen hit the road in 2014 with its own food truck, touring festivals and events. Guests wanted a permanent place, so the first restaurant opened in Buda in 2016, followed by Érd in 2021.
Over the years the small mobile unit grew into a multi-site brand. With that came a realisation: growth needs more than good food – it needs a well-built digital system in the background.

CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
At peak times the counter is the bottleneck.
Dozens want to order at once; people at the back walk away.
Guests order and pay themselves, the queue splits.
In a hurry nobody browses, extras go unsold.
The visual menu suggests extras and sides.
When every order goes through the counter, everyone is overloaded.
They take over part of order taking, staff can focus on guests.
Many channels, lots of paper, lots of mistakes.
Handwritten modifications, lost requests, wasted food.
Every order clear, with modifications, in sequence.
Counter, Wolt, Foodora, website – each beeps on its own device.
All channels flow into one system and one screen.
You never know when twenty orders arrive at once.
Prepaid orders with pickup times let the kitchen plan.
Growth needs your own returning guests.
Commission on every order, guest data stays with the platform.
No platform commission, guest data stays with you.
They visit once, then forget – nothing reminds them.
Points, coupons and notifications bring them back.
THE SOLUTION
Not separate tools, but one connected system: every order lands in the same place, wherever it comes from.
Guests order and pay at the kiosk, while the visual menu and extras help raise the basket value.
DetailsGuests pre-order and pre-pay, choose their pickup time and skip the counter queue.
DetailsPoints and coupons in the own app and website turn one-time guests into regulars.
DetailsCounter, kiosk, app, website, Wolt and Foodora orders flow into one system, and the owner sees the numbers from anywhere.

WHY PRE-ORDERING?
Pre-ordering works for everyone: guests don’t wait, the restaurant can plan and the kitchen works calmer.
A few taps in the app, paid in advance, then just pick up the ready meal.
Browsing calmly, guests add more extras and sides.
Knowing pickup times, the kitchen can schedule work and ingredients better.
Orders from every channel on one screen, in sequence, paper-free.

Since we started using OneMin, everything has become simpler. Orders arrive accurately, there’s no chaos in the kitchen, and I can finally see the whole business, even when I’m not in the restaurant.

Tell us how your place works and we’ll show you what each OneMin service would bring you.
I want this tooIf there is one area of restaurant operations that everyone considered a "necessary evil", it is inventory management. Papers, spreadsheets, manual counting, disappearing stock, inaccurate inventory, stressful closings.Read more
